Yuletide camellia would be the plant of choice if winter color is to your liking. Blossoms on this sasanqua type of camellia are single, brilliant and fiery red. Enjoy great color contrast against the glossy green leaves, with even better color contrast with a little fresh snow in the mix. Yuletide camellia is great all by itself where its color can truly be enjoyed in pot on shady porch or entryway, or use several together for a colorful hedge or border plant. All camellias do fine with morning sun, but appreciate some shade in the afternoon. The yuletide blooms October to December or January. Hardy to USDA zone 7 and all higher zones, so feel free to consider this plant for those in locations where camellias are not frequently used.
