The Yellow Wave New Zealand Flax, like any other phormium is used for a bold splash of color, but unlike some of the other dark colored varieties, the yellow wave is a nice mix of greens and yellows. Really look into flax plants for your yard as their potential for adding color is often over looked. The yellow wave prefers full sun and to be intelligently watered---meaning when you do irrigate, water like you mean it, but do not keep the soil too soggy. Flax (phormium) are a must for the rock garden planting or for use in dry creek beds. Use in large stylized pots with color spilling over the edge for an impressive look. The yellow wave is hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones, growing to 3 to 4 feet tall and clumps equally as wide over time. The Yellow wave is deer resistant, and a good consideration for poolside or seacoast plantings. Shipped potted in soil for best possible results when planted in yard or garden.
