Hardenbergia, or "Wandering Lilac Vine" is a fast growing vine or mounding shrub to 3-4’ tall, 10’ wide or clip to shape. Enjoy masses of violet purple flowers that cover the plant from late October through February or March. Sun to part shade. Can be slow to establish in some very dry situations, but is usually fast once its roots are down. In eastern Australia where it is native, it is often encountered growing naturally as a compact, sprawling ground cover on bare road cuts. Undamaged at 25°F, so if colder weather is expected, cover for added protection. A good choice for smaller areas where a massive vine would be too much. Evergreen in mild climates. Shipped as a potted one gallon plant in its original soil and container. Use as a backdrop to masses of colorful perennials or spring blooming shrubs.
