This berry is grown for us by Monrovia growers, so how can you go wrong…tasty blackberries and large sized fruit midsummer. The Blacksatin is a prolific bearer, so plenty of fresh fruit to go around. Small soft pink flowers fade to white and precede fruit on erect, then arching to the ground thornless canes. The Blacksatin tolerates heat and enjoys full sun; deciduous. This berry does grow fast to about 5 to 6 feet tall and wide, so a plant that could even serve as a barrier or short privacy screen. Clip your berry vine to desired size or shape, or train on to trellis, arbor, fence or patio cover. Hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones. A delicious berry with thorn less canes makes this blackberry an excellent choice for the fruit garden. Blackberries are always awesome for jam or jelly and the best pies! Shipped triple staked as a potted one gallon specimen in its original soil and container.
Not at all. They are pretty 'hands off'...just keep well watered in the warm part of the year. Consider a vine to cover an old fence, a tree stump, blank side of a shed, basically anything to give a bit of support. A cottage garden stand out!
