Syringa "Redwine", or the Redwine Lilac is a cold hardy blooming shrub with beautiful magenta flowers with a spicy fragrance. This particular lilac variety also does well in warmer weather, attracting butterflies for an added benefit. Cut some flowers from your red wine lilac and bring indoors to enjoy, letting the good fragrance waft throughout your home. Growth to about 8 to 12 feet tall or easily clip to shape, making an excellent background plant near fences, against a wall or as a specimen surrounded by other low growing plant material. Hardy to USDA zone 2 and all higher zones, so one tough plant. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
