Sunshine Blueberry, Two Gallon Container by Monrovia Growers
The Sunshine Blueberry plant yields an abundance of large, tangy fruit with as few as 150 hours chilling, so fresh blueberries are still a possibility for those in mild winter areas, yet hardy enough to take down to USDA zone 5. This blueberry variety only grows to about 3 feet tall and wide, so it is more suited to smaller planter areas in urban gardens where space can be a premium. Plant the Sunshine blueberry in full sun in soil that has been amended to be slightly acidic, rich, loose and well draining. It is self pollinating, but yields best when planted with another variety. Semi-evergreen. Your Sunshine Blueberry will arrive potted in soil to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.

Know your climate, and if you live in an area where winters are mild, be sure to choose a cultivar requiring fewer winter chill hours such as the Sunshine.
They really do need soil that is rich and well draining and slightly acidic. If your garden bed is closer to clay or full of sand and rocks, you may be better off planting in large containers.
Since blueberries grow more 'shrub' like and do not sprawl like blackberries or raspberries, performance is great in a container. Mature plant size for this variety is just 3 to 4 feet. The berries ripen over a 3-5 week period, so place the container on patio or deck for easy access.
