A new Shiraz (sometimes called Syrah) grape vine from our nursery will add a little spice to both your yard and your holiday entertaining. This wine grape variety is the most popular planted grape variety in Australia, yet a grape that can "flourish" in a range of climates, still turning a crop in even cooler regions. Shiraz grapes, even though very ripe can still begin the wine making process, its soft ripe tannins finishing into a wine you can drink right away, though over time, wines from a Shiraz grape develops a flavor profile that has been described as 'powerful' or 'full bodied', with each batch a little different based on climate and soil type, oak barrels used, and even a wine makers personal style and abilities. Words used to describe an aged Shiraz include 'liquorice', 'peppery', 'leather, wet leaves, or earthy', sometimes 'blackberry'. Do not confuse with Petite Sirah.
