Yes you can have fresh blueberries if you live in a mild winter area. Find a place for a Sharpblue blueberry plant and you will be baking pies and topping your cereal bowl before you know it. This blueberry variety is adaptable for milder climates, as it needs only 150 to 200 hours chilling. You will be really happy watching your plants re-bloom and ripen fruit nearly year round. The white, bell shaped blossoms that precede the fruit are pretty as well. The fruit on the sharpblue retains excellent flavor and is produced most heavily midsummer to fall. Try a blueberry plant in the shrub border or as an accent plant, even in a container on porch or patio. Full sun is o.k. for the blueberry, but find a little shade for those in very extreme summer areas. It is important to add plenty of organic matter to make the soil loose, rich, and well draining. Grows to about 6 feet tall and wide, but you can clip to keep tidy. Shipped as a potted two gallon plant to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden. Hardy to USDA zone 7 and all higher zones.
