Sensation lilac, a find we picked up from Monrovia growers, is desired for its large trusses of purplish-red flowers edged in white in spring time. Captivating fragrance is also a bonus. The Sensation lilac has erect and open branches with rich green foliage, growing to about 10 feet high or easily clipped to shape. Prune your lilac when it is in bloom to bring some of its beauty and aroma indoors. It is a deciduous shrub, growing best in full sun. The intriguing two-tone flowers of the Sensation lilac make it a shrub you will want within reach. Use in mixed shrub borders, against fences or walls or in containers near windows so the fragrance can be enjoyed where people gather. Hardy to USDA zone 3 and all higher zones. Japanese barberry makes a fine companion to the lilac`s flowers and a good filler the rest of the time. Shipped as a potted specimen in a 'super' one gallon container.
