Consider a Japanese Maple 'Seiryu' for its delicate foliage that is soft and inviting, even a bit colorful in the fall as the seasons change. This Acer variety is an excellent accent and a wonderful focal point for the patio area. The Seiryu grows slowly to about 10-12 feet tall, but could easily take on lots of character if you decide to clip to some neat forms and shapes. With its nice foliage and the way the growth has a tendency to tumble and spill like a waterfall, the Seiryu maple would be a great focal point in the shade garden, in a container on covered porch, patio, or entryway, and invaluable in the Asian or Japanese garden. The smaller stature of this maple is excellent for foundation beds because they won't crowd windows. Your new Japanese maple will be shipped as a potted 2 gallon specimen to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden. Hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones.
