One Gallon Purple Salvia greggii
Salvia greggii is one tough plant. Grows to about 2 to 3 feet tall spreading wider. Hardy to the upper teens to lower 20°s, more with protection. Use as a good, reliable source of color in hot, sunny beds, but would appreciate a little shade in the most extreme summer locations. Purple color of the flowers is a refreshing addtion to landscapes that have a tendency to favor yellows or pinks. Mass for greater effect, or use as specimen plants against glossy leafed evergreens. Good in planters on porch or patio spilling over the container edge. Compact, spreading to almost trailing habit. Water consistently the first season to establish, but don't keep soggy. More drought tolerant as the plant matures. Clip lightly to keep plant dense. Shipped as a potted one gallon plant in its original soil and container.
