"Royal Robe" Solanum, also known as the potato plant or bush is very showy, blooming dark purple blossoms all season. Plant in full sun. The potato bush is fast growing to about 6 to 8 feet tall or clip to shape. Use this solanum variety in the mixed border as a focal point, adding other blooming shrubs or perennials to accent. This easy care blooming shrub is hardy to USDA zone 9 and all higher zones, but its fast growth and ease of bloom gives it potential as a 'one season' plant for those in extreme winter areas, as color is practically non stop. Plant in container to give additional use and winter protection possibilities. Shipped as a potted one gallon specimen in its original soil.
