The Royal Cloak Japanese Barberry is a showy, fast growing specimen or hedge with extra large burgundy, velvety foliage covering its fountain like form. This barberry variety will provide an interesting backdrop to brightly colored shrubs and perennials, offering visual interest with its arching form. Mix with yellow leafed plants or those with emerald green leaves for an especially vivid splash of color. The Royal Cloak can reach 3 to 5 feet tall and wide or clip to shape. You may get a peak of small, yellow flowers hanging in clusters in the spring. Plant this Japanese Barberry in the full sun for best color. Hardy to USDA zone 4 and all higher zones. Plants are currently well sized and full. Shipped potted in its original soil to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.
