Red Silk Pomegranate will fill your fruit bowl to overflowing with medium to large sized fruit with a brilliant red silky exterior. The pomegranates have large, firm, yet edible seeds with a sweet berry flavor and a great acid/sugar balance. The red silk pomegranate is a natural semi dwarf with a slightly spreading habit, and can be grown either as a tree or a large shrub. Keep this pomegranate variety to any height by summer pruning. Pomegranates are an excellent source of antioxidants, and can be enjoyed fresh or used in cooking. The red silk is self fruitful and requires minimal chilling, yet hardy to USDA zone 7 and all higher zones.
