The flowering on your red bird of paradise would be reduced if light levels are too low. A great specimen plant for desert settings. This easy care plant does best with regular irrigation, with height and growth rate determined by water supply, tolerating some episodes of drought if necessary once established. Does best with good drainage. Growth to 3 to 10 feet high with equal spread or clip to any desired size and shape. The red bird of paradise can take into the 20's, but starts showing some damage at 32°'s. Clip off any damage branch tips in the spring. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
