Rainbow Chief New Zealand Flax is a phormium variety we picked up from Monrovia growers, so a plant that will do well when planted in your garden. You will enjoy dramatically colored pink and red striped leaves, so a plant that will add unique color to any landscape. Flax do best in full sun in soil with average to good drainage. The clumping foliage is effective and showy when used with rocks or other hardscapes in the garden, so heat tolerance never an issue with the Rainbow Chief. Consider this deer resistant plant for mass planting or for an especially bold statement anywhere in the garden. Growth to about 5 to 6 feet tall. Hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
