Daylily Purple Rain has bright purple flowers to 3" with a darker central zone, to about 12" tall. This hemerocallis variety will treat you to a long season of color. Daylily plants are tough, and can be used in sun to half shade, often needing little summer watering after they are established. Daylilies can be used for large scale ground cover, perfect for massed planting or large scale edgings, or use against a foundation like a mini hedge. Provides great form and texture variation when planted with dwarf evergreen shrubs. These perennials do best with warm nights and even moisture, but can survive some drought conditions after they have been planted for awhile. Flower size can increase after the plant has been in the ground. Hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones. Shipped potted in soil to give the plant a better head start when planted in yard or garden. Photo used courtesy of Rhonda Ashby Coulter photography.
