The Pink Velour Crape myrtle, one of the new Lagerstroemia hybrids, is a refreshing treat for those hard to fill, hot sunny spots in your garden. The foliage on this crape myrtle plant has a distinctive dark wine color, which peaks in the spring, giving you a preview of color before the main attraction, bright pink flowers exploding from this large shrub or small tree. The Pink Velour Crape Myrtle can reach 12 feet tall or more, or easily clipped to any desired size and shape. The foliage on the pink velour is mildew resistant, foregoing the need to spray, so just sit back and enjoy, with peak color around the Fourth of July when your yard needs to look its best. This crape myrtle variety is tough in the winter as well, reliably cold hardy down to USDA zone 6. Enjoy dark orange fall foliage color before winter sets in.
