The carpet rose is a neat rose variety. The tree version is especially showy in containers when other flowers are planted around its base and allowed to cascade over the rim of the pot. Best of all, it's EASY!! There is no fancy pruning needed, just occasional shearing to keep tidy and to remove the spent flowers. What I like most about pink carpet roses, whether on the ground or as a topiary, is that it's resistant to Black Spot and Powdery Mildew -- so you never really have to spray it. The pink carpet rose topiary offers an explosion of color and showy blossoms most of the spring and summer. Clip spent rose heads as needed to keep the show going. The plant likes full sun and is deciduous, and is a moderate grower. Shipped as a potted five gallon tree in its original soil and container, and is definitely a great gift for any plant lover you may know. Like all roses, the carpet rose does best in full sun and is deciduous. Hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones.
