Azalea phoenicia will treat you to brilliant single lavender flowers midseason. This shade loving evergreen is a moderate grower to about 6 feet tall or easily clipped to shape. Azaleas do best in partial sun, and are invaluable in the shade garden, quite effective when mass planted for an explosion of spring time color. Your phoenicia azalea will do best in soil that is loose, rich and well draining. Keep soil moist, not soggy or dry. Hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Try planting one on either side of a vine-covered arbor to further define the archway. Shipped potted in soil for the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
