Osmanthus is an evergreen shrub with extremely sweet smelling flowers. Your sweet olive shows moderate growth to about 8 feet, but can easily be clipped to shape. The flowers from your osmanthus are white and tiny, not particularly showy, but have a strong apricot like in fragrance, blooming heaviest in spring and early summer, then sporadically year round in mild climate areas. This osmanthus variety will thrive in full sun to partial shade with average soil and water. Hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.

Frequently Asked Questions
I like taking walks in my garden to enjoy a bit of quiet after a hectic day, and really enjoy plants with fragrance. Most shrubs only bloom for several weeks.....how do I get aroma to enjoy over a greater period of time?
One plant I'm sure you are probably aware of is lilacs....fragrance second to none, with an added benefit being that the flowers can be cut and brought indoors for vase arrangements....a sure sign that spring has arrived. Another you may want to pick up is the Osmanthus fragrans. This is an evergreen shrub with tiny white flowers with an enjoyable floral aroma, but one a bit more subtle, yet definitely a pleasing smell you can not miss. Best of all, its flowering period is late spring into mid summer after the lilacs are finished, giving you much more time to enjoy the wonders of your garden.

If you live in either a temperate region or have a place to put a large container, the flowers on a navel orange tree smell heavenly…..and great tasting fruit, too.
