The Osborne Prolific fig tree will provide you with large fruit that has attractive purplish brown skin. The fruit has an especially pleasing flavor that is sweet and wonderfully rich. The Osborne Prolific is a long time favorite in cool coastal areas, and does well in inland locations as well. Avoid extremes of heat. This fig variety is self fertile, grows quickly, and bears heavily. Prune to any desired size and shape. Figs are a good choice in mild winter areas, as they only require 100 hours of winter chill, yet cold hardy to USDA zone 7. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
