The Nuccio’s Gem camellia has quite handsome, sparkling white blooms formal to double in form. Your show of awesome flowers begins early to midseason. Looks really good with the snow white blooms contrasting nicely against the waxy green leaves. Use camellias in the shade garden, mixing with azaleas or any shade loving ground cover. Makes a nice accent against a shady wall. Mix with ferns to give a combination of foliage types. Camellias prefer shade in the afternoon, and do best in soil that is rich and well draining. Keep soil consistently moist, not soggy or dry, as this will aid in keeping the flower buds on the plant. Feed with an appropriate fertilizer after bloom, and clip to shape. Evergreen. Hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Shipped as a potted specimen to ensure a healthier start when planted in container or garden.
