Nova Mandarin Orange is a wonderful hybrid of a Clementine with Orlando Tangelo. The fruit from Nova Mandarin orange is very intensely flavored, with moderate acidity, high sugars, and high essential flavors, mostly orange flavored in nature, but with a good, sprightly mandarin bite. The fruit from this mandarin orange variety is usually mostly seedless, and characteristically very firm, to the point of being almost hard but dissolving into lots of juice when eaten. The fruit is small, medium to deep orange inside and out, mostly round to somewhat flattened, 2 - 2 3/4" across, and very easy to peel once you get it started. The mandarins do well cut into vertical wedges. The fruit appear to hold well until ripe. This is an excellent home garden variety. Can not ship citrus trees to AZ, FL, or TX. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really ship citrus trees this time of the year?
Since we ship all of our trees potted in soil, yes we are able to offer shipment year round. We monitor weather.com, and hold shipment temporarily if weather is too extreme. We add insulation to the trees as weather dictates, packaging each carefully by hand to ensure the best possible tree when it arrives at your home.

How are the trees prepared to make such a journey in the winter?
We carefully box each tree by hand, adding protective measures to absorb excessive vibration or movement while in transit. The root balls are then bagged to hold in moisture while the trees are on their way, with an additional card board collar placed over the tree to provide additional protection from the elements. Some leaf drop may occur, but the tree, once moved to a proper and safe location should re-foliate very quickly.
