The Northland Blueberry is a cold hardy and vigorous blueberry that produces an abundance of small, dark blue fruit. The Northland is a compact plant better suited to smaller gardens. Blueberry plants produce small white bell shaped flower clusters in the spring that precede the fruit each year, transforming to bright orange foliage color in the fall. Blueberries need not be limited to the confines of a kitchen garden or orchard, as they make for an attractive accent in shrub borders offering some seasonal changes. Ideal against fences and foundations of outbuildings. Blueberries are well suited to areas around the acidic transitional edges of conifer canopy driplines or openings in natural woodlands. Line them up for a delicious and beautiful hedge for easy picking access. Share fruit with birds by adding to habitat gardens. Moderate grower to about 5-6 feet tall or clip to shape. Prefers rich, well draining acidic soil. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
