The Merritt’s Beauty Hydrangea is a fast growing plant blooming spring into early summer. Flowers are carmine red, giving good color contrast to the darker greens typically found in shade gardens. Any hydrangea plant would be perfect under windows or used as a foundation plant on the north or east side of the house. Keep consistently moist. The Merritt’s gives a bold effect, so consider using as a single specimen plant or even as a dense hedge. Foliage is dark green growing to 4 to 6 feet high or easily clip to shape.
