Purut, or Kuffre lime dwarf will put into your hands both foliage and fruit excellent for culinary use, most notably cuisines of Southeast Asia. Noted from my grower's website..."The leaf smell is distinctly and strongly lime, cleaner and less musky than the foliage of 'Mexican' Lime. It bears knobby, convoluted, deep green fruit with green interiors, from 1 1/2 - 2 1/2" across, that ripen to lemon yellow, often borne in clusters." The limes themselves are sour, though with a definite lime flavor with a touch of grapefruit with a fair amount of juice, though seedy. Another notation...."in his extensive Southeast Asian culinary expeditions he often found whole fruits being used in various dishes, just grated or ground up into whatever was being prepared.” Tree to about 6 to 8 feet tall, though suggested to keep clipped, as has a tendency to sprawl. Frost tender. Shipped as a potted specimen in its original soil and container. Can not ship citrus trees to AZ, FL, or TX.
