Katy Apricot will be one variety worth considering if you live in a Southern area with mild winters. The apricots hanging from your very own backyard tree are large in size, an all purpose flavorful freestone. The tree ripe fruit is sub-acid, not tart. You can begin picking your fruit early, usually 3-4 weeks before Blenheim (Royal). The Katy apricot does need about 350 hours chilling, and is self fertile. Enjoy your fruit for fresh eating, cooking, canning, drying, freezing and jams and jellies. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
