An intense flavor will greet you if you are willing to give the Kashmir Blend pomegranate a try, though a pomegranate many may not have heard much about. The fruit is medium sized with a light pink to red exterior with ruby red seeds. The Kashmir has no overbearing acidic taste so use with confidence in any recipe that calls for fresh fruit. As with most pomegranates, the Kashmir has a slightly spreading growth habit that can be maintained at any desired height with summer pruning. The Kashmir blend, as do all pomegranates, provides an excellent source of antioxidants with the fruit enjoyed fresh or used in cooking. This pomegranate variety only needs about 150 to 200 hours of chilling, but is hardy to USDA zone 7, giving it a wide range of adaptability from mild winter areas to those a little more cold. Shipped potted in soil to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.
