Looking for a tough, low maintenance plant? You found it in the Juniper "Icee Blue". Yes, there are many ground cover junipers in nurseries, but the Icee Blue has the best winter color of the groundcover junipers. It maintains a full dense crown of foliage that creates a solid cover in a short time. On this ground cover juniper, the winter foliage becomes plum purple in coldest climates. Evergreen. The Icee Blue is evergreen, hardy to USDA zone 3 and higher, but doing quite well in full, hot sun as well. Drought tolerant once established, growing to only 4 inches tall and spreading to about 8 feet wide or easily clip to shape. Consider this conifer in seacoast plantings, or massed plant in areas that need plants tolerant of much sun and heat. Your new juniper will be shipped potted in soil for best possible results when planted in yard or garden.
