The green gage plum is a long time favorite for dessert, cooking or canning. Fruit from this plum tree is tender and juicy with rich flavor. The plums are medium sized and round, with greenish yellow skin. The green gage has a wide climatic range, setting heavy in even coastal Southern California, and replaces Santa Rosa as the pollinator of choice in the Denver area. The green gage is self fertile, requiring 400 to 500 hours chilling. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or orchard.
