Ginkgo biloba is a superb shade tree giving you some amazing head turning color, growing such that it can be considered in smaller planting areas, yet over time achieves some magnificent size. If you are looking for form and color as much as some shade, confidently plant this newer fruitless ginkgo as a street or lawn tree. Tuck away a ginkgo in the far back corner of your yard where its fall color will crisply stand out and blanket the ground with a bright yellow carpet. The ginkgo is a slow growing tree, so you can get away in using it in large containers or large shrub beds. Hardy to USDA zone 4 and all higher zones. This tree is deciduous doing best in full sun.
