You just can't go wrong with a Saucer Magnolia, a tree that is easy care, cold hardy and very colorful. Magnolia soulangiana "Jane" is distinguished by its beautifully shaped, very fragrant flowers. The color begins early May, with your tree adorned with 4 inch blossoms that are red purple on the outside and white on the inside. Plant with saucer magnolia "Betty" that blooms in April for a continuous, larger show of color. This variety of deciduous magnolia is a strong, vigorous grower with an upright habit. Plant in lawns or large planter beds, or anywhere a splash of color is desired. Place your tree in full sun in soil amended with some organic matter to improve drainage and nutrient holding capacity. Hardy to USDA zone 5 to 6 and all higher zones. Shipped potted in soil to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.
