"Elijah Blue" One Gallon Clumping Festuca
Elijah Blue, blue fescue grass is a relatively short ornamental grass with clumps to around one foot by one foot, just right for borders in flower beds, rock gardens, ground cover, or planted in front of larger shrubs and taller perennials. The more sun this grass receives, the more likely it is to achieve and maintain its signature blue-gray color. Elijah blue prefers well drained soil and consistent watering until it gets established, then moderately drought tolerant. In cold climates, the clumping blue fescues can brown in the winter, but many gardeners allow the browned foliage to stay as a way of protecting the roots from frost. In spring, cut back foliage to allow new growth. Can be short lived, but also can be divided. Hardy to about USDA zone 5 and higher. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible results when planted in yard or garden.
