Escallonia frades is a reliable shrub offering glossy, fine textured foliage that is rich emerald green. Enjoy nearly year round rosy-red color on this upright, compact evergreen shrub. The escallonia is an excellent choice for screens or hedges, and responds well to shearing. With its pretty blossoms, this shrub is also great as an individual specimen or for foundation planting along fences and walls. This easy care evergreen likes full to partial sun, growing to about 5 to 6 feet tall or clipped to any desired size and shape. Attracts butterflies. Hardy to USDA zone 7 and all higher zones. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
