Plants that are shipped in soil generally do better than those which are not. Water upon receipt to settle the soil, handling the root ball carefully when planting.

Plant an early navel orange tree and there is no long wait for fruit, your harvest beginning about 2 to 3 weeks before the parent navel. Common early navel varieties are Atwood, Fisher, Fukumoto or Newhall, all with large sized fruit sweet in taste and seedless. The fresh fruit is easy to peel, juicy, and rich in flavor. You can pick your early navels from your very own tree beginning in October going right through to February. The tree will grow to about 10-12 feet tall if never pruned, or easily clip to manage size and shape. Tree produces fruit at an early age, so no long wait here. Grow in a container and move to protection for those in extreme winter areas. Blossoms are fragrant for an added bonus. Can not ship citrus trees to AZ, FL, or TX. All of our trees are shipped as potted five gallon specimens in their original soil and container to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really grow orange trees indoors?
Give the tree the same care as any other indoor foliage plant...at least moderate light and away from direct air flow from a heater or cooler. Spritz the foliage on occasion to maintain adequate humidity. You'll be harvesting before you know it.

Can you really ship citrus trees this time of the year?
Since we ship all of our trees potted in soil, yes we are able to offer shipment year round. We monitor weather.com, and hold shipment temporarily if weather is too extreme. We add insulation to the trees as weather dictates, packaging each carefully by hand to ensure the best possible tree when it arrives at your home.

How are the trees prepared to make such a journey in the winter?
We carefully box each tree by hand, adding protective measures to absorb excessive vibration or movement while in transit. The root balls are then bagged to hold in moisture while the trees are on their way, with an additional card board collar placed over the tree to provide additional protection from the elements. Some leaf drop may occur, but the tree, once moved to a proper and safe location should re-foliate very quickly.
