The Earliblue blueberry is first to ripen, delighting the senses with large, light blue, delicious sweet flavored berries. The upright bush produces stout canes with bright red wood and large glossy green leaves. Blueberry plants do best in soil that would please an azalea, one that is loose, rich, well draining and slightly acidic. Try to find a place in your yard free of frost pockets where early crops may be set back by an early cold snap. This early blueberry variety requires 800 hours chilling, growing to about 5 to 6 feet tall or clipped to shape. Cold hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones. Use fruit for fresh eating, cooking, drying, jams and jellies and freezing. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden, also enabling us to ship this item year round.
