The Bird's Nest Spruce, or Picea Nidiformis is a versatile, dwarf form that is an excellent evergreen for border or accent. Tight, many layered branches create nest-like compact form, requires little maintenance. Very hardy and wind resistant. Full sun. Slow grower to 3 to 5 feet tall, 4 to 6 feet wide or clip to shape. This is a carefree spreading conifer with bright color that adds welcome contrast to darker shrubs. Use as ground cover or as a low divider between driveways or along the property line. Good low plant that won`t obstruct the view from elevated homesites. Ideal filler between upright conifers and broadleaf trees. A candidate for rock gardens, where it spills nicely over boulders and dry stone walls. Hardy to -50 to -40°'s. Great container plant for patio. Shipped as a potted 2 gallon plant in its original soil and container.
