Debutante Camellia produces an abundance of large, peony like blooms light pink in color. The blossoms on the Debutante arrive early to midseason, and are prolific in number. Camellias are a perfect choice for large container on shady porch or patio. If used in a large pot, add seasonal color for an even greater splash of color. Camellias prefer shade in the afternoon, and do best in soil that is rich and well draining. Keep soil consistently moist, not soggy or dry, as this will aid in keeping the flower buds on the plant. Feed with an appropriate fertilizer after bloom, and clip to shape. The Debutante camellia is evergreen, hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Shipped as a potted specimen to ensure a healthier start when planted in container or garden.
