Crape Myrtle plants take brutal heat and sun like none other. The Chica Red is one you have to try if a bold and stunning red color is desired and you don't have much room to work with, as its eventual size can be maintained at only 3 to 4 feet, just right for tucking into empty spaces around other evergreen shrubs. Lagerstroemia bloom in the summer, a time of year when your yard becomes a place for family and friends. Water very consistently as it establishes in your garden, and then less so as it matures. The Chica Red may attract a hummingbird or two as an added benefit. Enjoy good fall leaf color in the autumn, and then take a moment to glance at its neat looking trunk and stems in the winter, so always something happening with a myrtle. Hardy to USDA zone 7 and higher. Shipped potted in soil for best possible results when planted in yard or garden.
