Chardonnay is a good-yielding white wine variety that buds early in the season and also ripens relatively early. The best chardonnays come from cool climates, but the variety also adapts well to warmer regions. Chardonnay ripens easily and produces medium-to-full-bodied wines with rich apple, citrus, and tropical fruit aromas and flavors, but the variety’s full body is capable of supporting a host of complementary characteristics, such as oak, butter, and vanilla. Good air circulation minimizes mildew issues. Can plant in a large container and train over a trellis or patio cover if desired. Hardy to around 5°'s. Enjoy pretty fall foliage as the vine goes dormant. Shipped as a potted one gallon plant in its original soil and container.
