Caryopteris, also known as one of the 'bluebeard' plants is a highly versatile small shrub, great for the front of sunny beds and borders providing purple-blue flowers most of the summer. Use the bluebeard as a single specimen, or in groups of three or more where the fragrant flowers can truly be enjoyed. Caryopteris is an excellent choice for late summer color in compositions featuring lower growing, shrubbier herbs and woody perennials. Use this plant in full sun along white picket fences or to add a finishing touch to raised planters, yet small enough to fit nicely into city gardens and town-house yards. The bluebeard caryopteris is a moderate grower to about 2 feet tall and wide if not clipped. Shipped as a potted specimen to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden. Hardy to USDA zone 5 and all higher zones.
