Azalea "Brilliant" is one of those 'go to' plants that just plain catches your eye every spring....brilliant color, evergreen foliage and a plant that anchors any shade garden pretty darn well. The Brilliant Azalea is an outstanding midseason bloomer with single flowers of watermelon red. Plant this flowering shrub in soil that has been fortified and worked with coarse organic matter to improve drainage and improve nutrient holding capabilities. Peat moss usually works pretty good. Growth rate on this shade lover is moderate, growing to 5-7 feet tall or easily clipped to shape. Some morning sun is o.k, and even a smidge of afternoon sun if surrounded by other greenery. Avoid reflected heat. Keep soil consistently moist, never soggy or dry. Shipped potted in soil for best possible results when planted in yard or garden.
