Bosnian pine is an intriguing specimen with unique purple-blue cones when young that ripen to brown. Dense, pyramidal tree makes a fine landscape specimen, enframement tree or windbreak. Evergreen. Slow grower to 40 ft. tall, 10 ft. wide, or easily clip to shape. Its smaller size and slower growth rate lends itself to smaller planter beds in the garden, giving greater flexibility to its use. Hardy to USDA zone 4 and all higher zones. This columnar Pine is a great low-maintenance evergreen for suburban homesites or parks. Very useful to separate multistory homes on very narrow lots. Plant densely for a noise-absorbing, wind-cutting wall of green. To appreciate its natural beauty, plant as a single specimen or in groves of three to five.
