Seeds of this pomegranate variety are soft and palatable and totally edible. Juice is bright red and plentiful, making for a colorful start to your day. Pomegranates are tough, hardy to USDA zone 7 loving full hot sun. Your Sunshine Blueberry will fill your fruit bowl to overflowing with large, tangy fruit with as few as 150 hours of chilling, so fresh blueberries are still a possibility for those in mild winter areas, yet hardy enough to take down to USDA zone 5. Plant the blueberry in full sun along with the pomegranate, but this berry plant will appreciate acidic soil and a little organic matter mixed in around its roots. The pomegranate will make fruit all on its own, as will the blueberry, but you will see a larger crop of berries when planted with another variety. The pomegranate can reach 8 to 10 feet, the Sunshine blueberry a little shorter to just about 3 feet, but both can be clipped to shape.
