Yes, Anna Apple will work in mild winter areas (needs only 200-300 chill hours), so no need to abandon the dream of fresh, home grown apples if you live in the South or along the coast. Consider an apple tree for a small shade tree as well, the beautiful spring time flowers that come before the fruit are attractive in their own right. The Anna has large sized fruit with light greenish yellow skin with slight red blush. The apples are crisp with creamy white flesh, flavor that is sweet, slightly tart. This apple variety is semi self fertile, ripening in June. Enjoy fruit from this low chill apple variety for fresh eating, cooking, drying, juice, jams and jellies and even apple sauce. Our apple trees are shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.

This apple selection is grafted on M-111, which is an excellent all around rootstock for apples. It tolerates both wet and dry soil, as well as poor soil, and also resists wooly apple aphid and collar rot. M-111 induces bearing at a young age. Un-pruned tree height for trees on M-111 is 80-90% of standard, or about 15 to about 25 feet. Apple trees on M-111 may be held to any desired height by summer pruning.
Use an apple tree in a large corner bed where two fences come together. Its height will be just about right to give you some privacy from the neighbors, and it shouldn't make too big a mess with apples in the way of the mower if the bed is large enough. Mass plant some blooming perennials around the bottom of the apple for added affect.
