Ajuga "Black Scallop" is a smaller, darker version of 'Catlin's Giant,' with short stalks of medium blue flowers against almost black purple leaves. Bears 12" tall stalks of dark blue flowers intermittently all year, heaviest in spring and fall. An easy care plant that is a good choice for shady areas where a small amount of ground cover is desired. Good color contrast against the emerald green of certain ferns. Likes average soil and water. Hardy to USDA zone 4 and all higher zones. Good used in cottage gardens, between stepping stones, or massed in front of azaleas or camellias. Shipped as a potted one gallon plant in its original soil and container. A cold hardy perennial.
