This dark purple agapanthus will make a bold splash of color, one more vibrant than the older varieties of light blue agapanthus and one that will most certainly bring a little spark to an all green landscape. Mass several together for greater effect, use as a border plant, or place in container on patio for a nice splash of color. Loose nature of the strap shaped foliage also adds a good textural look to a 'heavy' landscape. Clumping perennial hardy to USDA zone 8 and all higher zones. Moderate growth to about 2 feet of foliage with flower stalks higher. Blooms mid summer. Fire resistant. Full to partial sun. Average soil and water. Great for kids, as blossoms attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Great for cottage gardens. Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden.
